Construction teams already hold most of the information they need. The challenge is that it lives in different places, is updated at different times, and is owned by different people. This piece looks at one practical part of that problem.
Start with a single, owned record
Before any analysis, decide which register is the source of truth and who keeps it current. A tracker with a named owner and a weekly review cadence will outperform a sophisticated tool that nobody updates.
Make status calculable
Prefer fields that can be computed — planned and actual dates, quantities, committed and invoiced amounts — over free-text status. Calculated signals are transparent and easy to audit; opinions are not.
Keep people in the loop
AI summaries are most useful as a first read. They should point reviewers at what changed and what needs attention, while contractual, structural and safety decisions remain with qualified professionals.
